I am having a flashback to last summer when I to the super when I shot the luncheon for OMCI. It was fun to see the 2018 emerging artists networking with the politician of the area. John Brassard did a great job with investing in the community economy through the arts.
Tori Hathaway is a Country Musician that was instrumental in the origination of OMCI and the Emerging Artist Program. Tori is the reason this project happened. Tori is now studying to be a Medical Doctor.
Melina Melle is an artist whose main focus of her work depicts a rebellious teenager. In her words: “her music influences her music influences her music influences are Ed Sheeran and Selena Gomez, and her attitude is reminiscent of Alanis Morissette Melina Melle”
Alyssa Tess is a local musician whom I chose for my list of exclusive musicians: Dunlop St Musicians. She says she is “full of passion, creativity, and laughter. Alyssa Tess lights up a stage. A singer-songwriter from the Georgian Bay area, this artist has been captivating audiences across Ontario for the past eight years. Inspired by personal experiences, Alyssa has created her own style that shares heartfelt emotions through unforgettable, original melodies.“
Over this week I am posting Polaroid type images from each artist in O.M.C.I. (Ontario Music Co-operative Inc) Emerging Artist Program. At the end of the week I have as supers for you.
September 15th was the final showcase for the 2018 emerging artist’s program. I have shot footage of the program throughout the summer. I will post a few more group shots over the next week. Now that The summer is over I will be posting other music photography. Once I see what artists form the summer are interested in buying access to the images, I will promote them on this blog. Once an artist has bought photos their photos will be used. These artists have been on the blog through contributing to a project I am working on which is why they have been here so far.
It was nice to part of the Emerging Artist Program by O.M.C.I. (Ontario Music Co-operative Inc) for it’s pilot year. I shot A lot. I covered live busking, rehearsals and then the final concert. I got to work with tones of amazing artists. These guys produced music that moved me on a daily basis. We had Rock singers, a girl with musical theater, a french horn player how also played the keytar and so much more. I found people my age that cared as much about the arts as I do. It showed in their art. I Remember moments of happiness, stress, achievement and inspiration, on and of camera. Looking forward: I will be working with Management to send photos to you and the arts. Stay tuned.
The show is tomorrow! If you enjoyed the nice music by the city’s buskers all summer, check out the big finish of the summer. The Spirit of Music, in the streets, is part of downtown, a city and across the world. We are the local music scene.
